Happy New Year! I can’t believe that we are in a new year AND new decade, it’s so exciting!
I am so ready to make this the best year yet. In 2020, I will be exiting my teen years (yes I’m a 2000 baby) which I am so ready for. This next decade is going to be such an important one for my generation, we will all be starting careers, families and buying our first house. It’s going to be interesting to see what is in store for the next year, let alone the next 10 years.
As I have gotten older I have come to the conclusion that resolutions don’t work for me. Like many people, I have tried and failed. So last year I changed it to new year’s goals and making sure that they are actually manageable instead of the same old ‘I want to eat healthy and exercise’. Since I do that regularly anyway it’s not on my goal list. At the top of my list is to get in touch with people more often instead of them contacting me all the time. This is definitely a bad habit of mine that I want to change. It doesn’t take long to send someone a message asking how they are or what they have been up to, so I am going to make a conscious effort to do this. What is motivating me is since coming home I have found myself asking people for updates on themselves and I don’t want it to be like that all the time, I want it to be like I never left.
This next point isn’t a goal as such but a thought, I am keeping in mind ‘New Year, New Decade, New Mindset’ because I keep finding myself getting stuck in a negative mindset, the type of mindset I would have when I was at school. I am an adult now and entering this new decade I want to avoid going back to how I would feel when I was 13.
I have a really positive feeling about this year! Bring it on 2020!
